Ernesto Köhler (1849 & 1907) was an Italian flautist and composer, who wrote over 100 works for the Flute, both performance pieces and pedagogical works. He was also considered one of the best flautists of his era, playing Principal Flute with the Imperial Russian Opera in St Petersburg. Schule Der Geläufigkeit (Op. 77) is a method for solo Flute. It contains a series of daily exercises in a wide range of keys, both major and minor.
