Description :
In cooperation with the Fondazione Puccini und dem Centro studi G. Puccini in Lucca. Reconstruction of a missing passage by Wolfgang Ludewig. Through its original treatment of form and the conscious use of orchestral colors, Giacomo Puccini‘s first surviving work, Preludio a Orchestra from 1876, allows a glimpse of the composer who would later become a master of the operatic stage. This first critical edition also contains a reconstruction of the missing passage from the middle section, thus restoring a sense of closed form to this work. The Preludio was performed for the first time in this new version on 16 October 2005 by the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala, under thedirection of Riccardo Chailly.
