Description :
The volume brings together two of Robert Schumann’s most famous collections of piano pieces for the young. Scenes from the Childhood (Kinderszenen), op. 15, contains a series of short pieces for piano written by Schumann in February 1838. These form the German composer’s poetic cycles, together with the Kreisleriana. As their titles suggest, Schumann had been inspired by some letters written by his wife, Clara Wieck, in which she reflects on his sometimes infantile spirit. As the great composer said himself: “There is a bit of everything, yet at the same time they are such easy pieces toremember”. Album for the Young (Album für die Jugend), op. 68, is a collection of simple pieces composed by Robert Schumann in 1848 for his three daughters. This album contains 43 easy pieces, split between “for the youngest ones” and “the older ones”. Edition in three languages: Italian, English and French
