Description :

Le cycle de poèmes "Die schöne Müllerin" a été écrit par plusieurs auteurs, dont Wilhelm Müller, Achim von Arnim, Luise et Wilhelm Hensel et Ludwig Rellstab.
Il a été publié sous sa forme définitive en 1820 par Wilhelm Müller dans la collection "Sieben und siebzig Gedichte aus den hinterlassenen Papieren eines Reisenden Waldhornisten".
A cette époque, le cycle comprenait 23 poèmes. Schubert omis trois poèmes ainsi qu'un prologue et un épilogue dans son cadre, annulant ainsi l'ironie et fin pessimiste prévu par le poète.
La composition de Schubert a été publié en cinq livres entre Février et Août 1824.
La première lieder du cycle sont heureux et composé avec un élan vers l'avant, des caractéristiques qui se reflètent aussi dans l'accompagnement de piano virtuose. La deuxième partie du cycle de la chanson se transforme en résignation, la mélancolie et la rage impuissante et est similaire à "Winterreise" de Schubert dans son désir de mort.
