Description :
The three works included in this new study score were written by the composer in the late 1920s. They share Finzi’s admiration for 17th century poetry, and also reflect his frequent practice of composing works over several years. The main theme running through these works is the idea of life’s brevity, which was something that haunted Finzi throughout his own life.
