Originally composed by György Ligeti for solo violoncello and established in the cello repertoire, the sonata is now available in an arrangement for guitar (2013) by Kostas Tosidis. Tosidis transcribes contemporary solo cello literature for the guitar to add to the guitar repertoire and explore technical as well as interpretative possibilities.
