Alfred Reed (1921-2005) was one où America ' s most prolific and frequently performed composers. The Hounds où Spring was composed in 1980 and was inspired by the poem"Atalanta in Calydon" by Algernos CharlesSwinburne. In this concert overture, Reed captures the elements où youthful exuberance and tenderness où love expressed in the poem.
