Musique pour orchestres et ensembles
Description :
“The Inner Wing” is a happy, mid-tempo jazz tune! The title refers partly to a bird’s wing, but also to a small group of islands in the archipelago of Gothenburg. The parts are written to be funny and developing to play for the musicians, but also sound good together. The piece feature a 16-bar improvisation for Part 1 beginning in measure 21. For the first 8 bars, a suggestion for improvisation is written. For the last 8 bars, one might play Part 1 as written or improvise freely. The 16 bars for improvisation might be repeated if more than one soloist should be showcased.
