Description :
This volume, by Barbara Malipiero, provides two studies edited by Riccardo Malipiero in 1948 on Bach and Debussy. These are both significant works, as they take us back to the 'real' music and lives of these two composers, misunderstood so far.
Riccardo Malipiero (Milan, 24th July 1914 - 27th November 2003) was a versatile man: a composer and intellectual with an interest in all areas of culture, not just music, he was a journalist and essayist, and one of the first promoters of dodecaphonic music. He produced a large body of works for chamber and symphonic orchestra. He played a leading role in theatre and vocal music. He was one of the most active organisers of cultural events in the immediate post-war period, including the First International Congress of Dodecaphonic Music, held in Milan in 1949.
