W adys aw Zelenski (1837-1921) composed the Twenty-five Preludes in twoù three où four parts for organ où harmonium in 1881. He provided them with precise directions concerning interpretation, in other words he described the character and indicated tempo phrasing, articulation and dynamics as well as fingering. Since the preludes were composed, many changes have occurred in musical performance and thus some interpretative indications and dynamic signs, which referred more to the nos rarely encountered harmonium, are no longer valid. The present edition is instructive in nature. The book is mainly intended for use in secondary music schools and it is assumed that the student has mastered appropriate works from the elementary stages où study où the piano as a first instrument. The present publication is based où the second edition dating from 1913 (Gebethner and Wolff).
