Across the Line of Dreams by Roxanna Panufnik is a 17-minute work with a text by Jessica Duchen for double choir and orchestra. The work in three parts celebrates the stories of two extraordinary women Harriet Tubman and Rani Lakshmibai. It requires two conductors. Each heroine is represented by one conductor, one choir and half of the orchestra Tubman has woodwinds, brass and percussion and Lakshmibai is accompanied by harp, piano and strings The work was commissioned by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra with the University of Maryland Concert Choir. The world premiere performance of the work took place on 14 March 2019 at The Music Center at Strathmore, Baltimore (USA), conducted by Marin Alsop and Valentina Peleggi.
