Classique
Description :
The work of neoclassical character, in the traditional form of a suite combining transparency of texture with lightness of expression. As is typical for the genre, the parts of the cycle are juxtaposed based on contrast in character and pace. The piece begins with a rough and somewhat "robbery" Allegro, followed by Moderato, which is a refined and at the same time funny stylization of the gavotte in 5/4 time. The central link of the cycle is the fleeting, although not devoid of internal differentiation, Presto. Recitativo with a quasi-improvised narrative also refers to the historical genre; in turn, the finale, kept at vivo tempo, has a motor toccat character. The first two parts of the Suite called Allegro and moderato per due pianoforti, edited by Zbigniew Sliwinski, were published in 1970 by the Polish Music Publishing House. The publication is intended for advanced pianists, students and professional musicians.
