Classique
Description :
Commissioned by the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra with assistance from the Canada Council. Premiere: January 15, 1986, Edmonton, Alberta; Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Glenn Mossop, conductor. The composer describes Crimson Dream as: “a musical depiction of a romantic dream, one in which events and feelings are constantly and suddenly changing.” The emotional contrasts of good-evil, sad-happy, and ugly-beautiful are evoked by a broad range of musical styles which are juxtaposed and overlapped, resulting in a musical collage.
