Description :
The Study (or Etude) In E Op. 10 No. 3, written in 1832, has become perhaps the most popular of all Chopin's 'Studies'. Whether called 'Tristesse' or 'How Deep Is The Night?', it has been recorded countless times by pop singers and groups over the last forty years. It is nevertheless a study in legato playing, in subtly graded dynamics and in constant changes of tempo which take rubato to its furthest limits. This piece is a perfect miniature worthy of a serious place in any pianist's repertoire.
