Classique
Description :
The writing of études for string instruments with an added second solo part is a well-established practice and constitutes a very valuable educational aid. In the second flute part for the études in Book 1 of Ernesto Köhler’s flute method presentedin this edition, the composer Werner Richter has created many new playful elements and has not simply provided a mechanical semiquaver accompaniment. Richter’s composition succeeds in clarifying the functional relationships in Köhler’s music andmaking enjoyable performance possible through some surprising ideas. Playing together with the second part demands great concentration and discipline and at the same time trains reactivity, rewarding the conscientious student with a gratifying senseof achievement after a successful performance. The Flautist's Progress (Der Fortschritt Im Flotenspiel) Op. 33 Book 1 is an excellent collection of 15 pieces, to be used as studies, for Solo Flute, composed by Ernesto Kohler. This is an additional second flute part, to be played with the original studies to promote the pupil's practical training of ensemble playing and to help the pupil overcome rhythmical difficulties.
