Poursuite de la nouvelle édition de Urtext lieder de Schubert, rédacteur en chef Walther Dürr présente maintenant le volume 6, pour la voix haute, moyenne et basse. Bien que les volumes 1 à 4 de cette série contiennent principalement des lieder de Schubert qui avait publié de son vivant, 5 et suivantes du volume. contiennent les morceaux restants qui sont présentés par ordre chronologique essentiellement dans l'ordre de leur numéro de catalogue Deutsch.
Le lied dans ce sixième volume ont été composées pendant la période entre l'automne 1814 et printemps 1815. Avec "Nachtgesang" (D 119) et "Trost dans Tränen" (D120) se tourne vers l'Schubert "Strophenlied" dans son sens strict pour la première fois. Il développe un intérêt pour ce parallèle forme à sa première participation à Geothe. Schubert, au cours de cette période, un professeur assistant à l'école de son père, lui-même orienté vers le "Berliner Liederschule" soi-disant, en particulier les chansons de Johann Friedrich Reichardt. Dès le début de l'année 1815, il a puisé son inspiration principalement dans les textes de Theodor Körner, mais il a régulièrement produit encore les paramètres de la poésie de Goethe et de Schiller.
