Composed for the Paris Conservatoire contest, Mobiles is a work for Trumpet and Piano by Jeanine Rueff. Rated as difficult, this piece is really interesting for the players as it helps them to focus on different areas of the technique that are necessary to pass the contest. Lasting seven minutes, this piece starts slowly on two measures to open on a cadenza. Followed by a more flexible part, it gets quicker with a Presto and a part Staccato. The sourdine is often used through the piece which also features many accidentals. Jeanine Rueff composed numerous pieces for Saxophones often used in contests, as well as many piecesfor Saxhorn, Clarinet, Horn and Cornet.
